About Common Sense Day worksheets
Use Your Common Sense Day, on November 4, is a day for thinking before acting, and the Common Sense Day library turns that idea into four simple safety sheets for young children. Children circle the safe choice in each row, comparing a helmeted bike ride with an unhelmeted one, a road crossing with an adult against chasing a ball into traffic, and sitting down to eat against climbing a stool to reach a high shelf. They match safety items to the pictures they go with: helmet to bicycle, umbrella to rain, life vest to boat, and mittens to a hot oven tray. They color a big safety helmet with knee pads and a bike bell, and they trace the dotted letters of SAFE beside a child in full safety gear. Each page is a single A4 sheet, free to download and print as often as you like, at home or in the classroom. The activities suit ages 3 to 7: preschoolers start with coloring and tracing, while older learners take on the safe-or-not choices and the matching game. Print at 100 percent scale so the outlines stay crisp, and talk through each safe choice together after the sheet is done.
